Janet Ryan-Newell offers over 30 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist and Educator. Ms. Ryan-Newell is Rae Institute’s CEO and Director, and the lead developer for RAE’S Master Clinician and Clinical Assessment Programs. Her teaching methodology emphasizes hands-on learning, evidence-based practice and critical thinking preparing students for the complex challenges of modern clinical psychology.

Ms. Ryan-Newell has been in practice as a Clinical Psychologist since 1992. Over the course of her career, she has accrued exceptional expertise in assessment, having completed or supervised over 4,600 assessments.

In addition to her extensive experience Ms. Ryan-Newell has been qualified in both Provincial Court and Court of Kings’ Bench since 1994 as an expert in clinical psychology, neuropsychological and learning function, personality function, child and adolescent development, risk assessment, parenting function and traumatic injury and recovery. Ms. Ryan-Newell’s distinctive approach is further informed by her front-line experience as a parent, foster parent, and teacher and psychologist in the school system.

Ms. Ryan-Newell holds active membership with the College of Alberta Psychologists, National Academy of Neuropsychology, Canadian Psychological Association, American Psychological Association – Law Society, and the Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology.
